if its an ignition problem it should occur at the same rpm... the spark is weak enough at that point to be blown out by the very induction gasses it is trying to ignite... or its not even firing... and past that sticking point there may be enough power going thru the leads (via alternator + battery combo?) to push it past?

my previous cars were force induced and those "induction" related problems were many to do with plug gap and leaks in the inlet manifold.

a pursuit computer? if thats a cop ecu then it still doesnt rule out that you may possibly need a manual computer. i havent heard of a manual computer being needed on EA/EB's but havent heard of many ED's with manual convo's.

might need a new TPS?

its a weird problem!

i assume youve ran a self test?

whats the timing at?

Have you checked if teh fuel reg is leaking?

Just a possibility. To check it, run teh car and disconnect the vacuum lin to the reg. If fuel pisses out, the diaphram is knackered and you need a new reg.

It's a long shot, but it's easy to check and doesn't cost anything, so why not check it?

It could be the auto computer. When the computer wants to change gears it retards the ignition timing to drop the engine power so that the auto can change smoothly.
Try a manual ECU. and get it dyno'd to check your air/fuel ratio as it sounds like this is up the creek too.

Have you checked your fuel pressure? The pump maybe running out of steam then catch up that could cause a serg.

ok update time.
I am still hitting a lag spot around 4800-5200rpm where the car is lacking serious power. From 5200rpm onwards its fine.
I will list what has been done to no avail:
-new Map Sensor
-EMS8860 (tuning it out didnt work)
-Crane Hi6 ign + coil
-new Injectors
-new walbro fuel pump
-Checked cat
-new plugs and Leads
-malpassi reg
-brand new complete dizzy

My tuner seems to think its an electrical problem in the wiring harness somewhere which i concur. My tuner suggested there could be a problem in the wiring to the coil as the signal to the ECU would show up on the datalog.
The car used to be on LPG so does anyone know if there could be some wires interfeering? I have to pull the dash apart and see if there are any weird wires...
Someone also suggested valve springs?

Im just seeing if anyone has any ideas or comments as this is really pissing me off! It should be running mid 14's by now!

THANKS!
