Im thinking about swapping the heads of two motors and was just wondering how much of a job is it and is there anything I need to buy like gaskets and stuff. I will be swapping everything including the cam and stuff.

u will basically need everything for a headgasket change. Twice if u want both engines to be running
probably best to get the heads checked while they are off aswell. Hardness/pressure/crack whatever. why do u want to swap ? one head been worked ? |

One is a ticky head and one is standard. So I will be needing the gasket kits and stuff. Damn looks to be alot of trouble.

yep all the head gasket stuff times 2.
you could allways try to find a head (wreakers/forums) that u can just replace the ticky car with and later on when your gasket needs to be doen replace it with the ticky then. going by your sig u have the EL Hybrid engine, the ticky head is also a Hybrid one ? |

Funny that. Didn't think there was much holding the two halfs of a motor together? You'll need inlet manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, head gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, thermostat housing to head gasket, new headbolts. Plus the machining expense of having the bottoms of the heads flattened. |

No the ticky is a non hybrid which is also why I want to change it so I can go for aftermarket cams later down the track. Thats why im changing everything over.

if u are changing cams u might aswell get a regrind done while u change the heads over.
as to get the head machined u will have to take the cam out anyway. |
