Can somebody please tell me correct and best method of tensioning down head. I am installing NEW head from Ford with new head bolts. Unfortunately could not get a head gasket for AU this morning from Dominelli Ford so must use stock one that came in the kit. I have access to normal tension wrench and Disc to tension by degrees. Thanks for any help.

Best way is to follow the instructions on the head gasket or that came with the new head bolts.

There is usually a bit of paper that tells you what to do. When i did mt VK there were 3 stages to it.
Stage 1: 40Nm
Stage 2: 70Nm
Stage 3: 40000Nm

Well you get the idea.

But it also tells you what ones to tighten. As in 1, 2, 16, 15, 3, 4 and so on
