All the new radiators support the EF/EL thermos. The old radiator isn't made any more. So if your radiators been changed in the past few years chances are it will have the captive nuts to mount the shroud. Look for them in the top of both tanks.

Double bugger! I replaced my radiator in January! Unfortunately with another EA one. When I was talking about which model to replace the radiator, I mean if I go to a wrecker do I just ask for a radiator that is the new style and have captive nuts?

Also if I wanted to test the thermos to make sure they work before i put them in, is there some simple circuit i could hook them into? Like just connect this pin to the +ve battery terminal and that pin to the -ve terminal?

Did you replace it with a new one? If so it will have the nuts or at least the holes for them. If you got a second hand one then it may still have them as the wrecker may have given you a later model radiator as they fit all the E series.

If you are going to replace it again ask for a EF/EL one and check the tops of the tanks when you buy.

Yes you can test them. on the left side of the shroud there is a 4 pin plug, which is 2 wires (+ & - ) for each fan. Trace the wires back to each fan and then power them up with a car battery.

Do eb Series 2 radiators have these points?

mine did so yea it should

Origanally I would say no, as the captive nuts where only put in place for the thermo fans in EF onwards. Regie I would guess your radiator was changed for a new model before you bought the car.

you can just buy an adjustable thermostat and cable tie the probe onto your top heater hose and wire it up thru a relay and ur done...then you know that your car won't overheat and you dont have to always be watching the temp ready to flick the on switch..

I'd go the EL ones, considering they are a perfect fit, and less buggering around.
