i made a funny discovery tonight. i can start my ZJ in D, 2, 1, and R as well as P and N, and it just starts and immediately rolls forward or backward.

wtf? :?

has this happened to anyone else?

inhibater switch, roadworthy item, cost about $30, 10-15mins to fix two bolts only.
Fix it because if some one starts your car in gear by accident and runs some one over you are liable.

As said sounds like faulty inhibitor switch.
