i made a funny discovery tonight. i can start my ZJ in D, 2, 1, and R as well as P and N, and it just starts and immediately rolls forward or backward.
wtf? 
has this happened to anyone else?

inhibater switch, roadworthy item, cost about $30, 10-15mins to fix two bolts only.
Fix it because if some one starts your car in gear by accident and runs some one over you are liable. |

As said sounds like faulty inhibitor switch.
