the eb2 /ed pump has the lines that join a rectangle block with 1 bolt holding the lines to the pump (like ef/el)..
ea and eb1 have 2 seperate lines that bolt individually into the pump with 2 bolts..

here is a pic of a ea/eb1 pump..

Looks like the series 2 to me, and your car is also a series 2 going from the build date.

So you want an EB2/ED Pump.

well the bosch book stated that the ea to eb1 are the same and the eb2 to ed are longer and yes my alternator belt is ribbed and its a mitsubishi alternator so that must mean its eb2 now what is the difference between 3 and 4 bolt ac compressors because on ebay there is a 3 bolt and a 4 bolt that look identical besides the bolt numbers still one plate for the 2 ac lines and and single bolt in the middle

i think you will find they both are 4 bolt, just you cant see the 4th bolt in the pic because of the angle of the pic.

i know ef and el pumps have 3 bolts.. but are quite suitable unless you go with the serpentine belt set up,,

ok so we have ea and eb1 with v belt alternator to be 2 pipe seperate install

eb2 and ed with ribbed belt alternator to be 1 plate pipe install with 1 bolt to hold it

all are 4 bolt up compressors

and bosch book is retarded and its the ea to eb1 power steering belt not the longer one

and ef el only to be used with serpentine belt setup and have a 3 bolt up config but are pretty much the same as a eb2 ed compressor except the pulley

ok i think i have it now, now to get one and get this thing going again.

thanks everyone for your help and patience
