Hey guys.
Im going to be moving to Richmond sydney in a few months and im just going to hire a trailer and take my stuff down.

Im going to do an oil change just before I go. As it'll be 8000 since my last one.
I usually use nulon 15w40 oil. Should I use something thicker as the engine is up to 188000 now. Something like a 20w50.

Im also going to do a coolant change before I go.

Is there anything else I should be doing.
Lowering tyre pressure or something like that.

Also carrying say an extra 400kgs how much worse will my fuel usage be?

if your car runs fine on the engine oil your currently using then just keep using the same stuff..

i would definatly reccomend a transmission service before towing a fair distance..

I your car is serviced and maintained and is running ok you should not have to do anything special. fitting a trans cooler would be a good idea if you don't have one.

WTF is this? pics of said sofa of 5piece wall unit. sounds unique.

seriously, don't power the car up hills just stick in the left lanes where nessasary if the car wants to drop a few km's on a climb let it, or you will simply just burn petrol for little gain.

My bad. Sofa OR 5 piece wall unit.

I will try not to gun it. My car pings a little. Could this cause problems.

Been using premium since them and a few tanks of octane booster.
How do I check my timing.
Its not pinging heaps only at quarter throttle and full when its under 2500 rpm

You need to set the car into diagnostic mode then hit the can with a timing light/gun and see if it's on the mark on the balancer or not. If it's out, loosen the dizzy & rotate it a little, checking timing as your going....

My EB doesn't ping on E10 & the timing is advanced a little, as i run on LPG most of the time.

Cheers

Yea I grounded my ecu turned it on let it do its thing. Marked it. Assumed it was retarded a little. (I know assumptions are the worst thing to do) and turned the dizzy just a little to advance it. Only slightly. Only slightly.

You may have advanced it too much. Get a timing light on it & see what's going on.

Cheers
