hey guys just wondering can either the map sensor or the tps switch cause pinging when underload on an EL XR6?
pinging gets worst when the car is hot.

Knock sensor or a lean condition. EDIT: Timing could be advanced out of the knock sensors range. Trying a tank of 95 or 98 could point you in the right direction too.

1) Check timing.
2) Check Fuel Filter.
3) Check Fuel Reg.
4) How old is the fuel?

timing is good pretty much spot on the mark, fuel is good as I fill up each week with 98, fuel filter should be good as I change it not too long ago and fuel reg unsure about would there be much difference going from a 300kpa XR6 one to an au standard one?

About 30kpa difference. Go to a wrecker and get a 3bar from a xr6 and a 3.5bar from a VCT/XR6 and trial them.

What Fuel Rail are you running?

To fit the AU VCT Reg you will need either an AU or BA/BF Fuel Rail.

When did it start pinging? After fitting the 270kpa reg or was it fine untill the weather warmed up?

I think maybe after installing the au fuel rail. but it ping bad when it gets warm and 2300rpm to 3500rpm especially on a hot day and travelling up a hill if that helps?

It's running lean, up the fuel pressure to a 3 or 3.5bar regulator. I had good results with the 3.5.
