Hi,

I have a eb with a 4.0l mpefi engine that has died, i also have a ea with a 3.9l cpi engine that is perfectly fine.

I want to know if i can just take the 3.9l engine out and bolt it up to the 4.0l intake and exhaust, or will i need the 3.9's intake (due to the CPI) and ecu to work?

Will the 3.9 work with the 4.0l mpefi intake and ecu?
Any info will be great.

just use the motor minus Gearbox intake headers etc etc a bare motor and yeah straight swap BUT i think you will have adrama regoing it as you can't put an older motor into a newr car (unless same year fine loop hole)

Thanks, thought that was the case with engine swap. Just wanted to be safe.

Didn't realize about the rego issues with older engine.
