just wondering about snorkels and filters and such, I heard they help get the best out of your exhaust system?

anyway, I have an EB and im not sure what decent type of snorkel would do the trick?

also how do you go about fitting a air filter? is there any decent brands i should be going for? are they easy to fit?

I guess the main question is, does it make a difference??

Cheers.

The difference it makes could only be marginal, or you may notice it, it is different on each car and driver. Some say their cars revv easier others say they have better economy, others say nothing is different. It's relatively easy to fit a filter and snorkel, to my understanding it'a just basic stuff, probably described on the packet (if there is one).

Models with broadband manifolds have their airbox the other way up...as in the snorkel enters underneath not on top. So without some plumbing mods etc it is not possible to bolt straight up (plug and play as it were). The XH snorkel is fast and easy and does bolt straight up...and I beleive it made a differencr ot my EB. 8-) Contact FTG for the snorkel cos I know they've got em. 8-)

Why do people get so p****d off at other asking a question...
Even if its been asked 10x before, there's still enough people willing to answer the guys question.

An idea could be to get some flexible hose/pipe about 90mm and drill a hole to suit into the airbox. Thats if theres space to run it down to the front bar, or somewhere it could get some cool air flow.
Its a lot less restrictive than any intake you can buy, but take some time... and sometimes theres no room for it.

i make my own "snorkels" out of 316 stainless steel and they work. more power & fuel economy on engines in good tune & condition.
spidamonkey, you didn't say if your eb was cfi or mpfi?
my kits only fit mpfi. ea to ed and 1 for xg ute.
i've had 1 on my ea for 5 years now and just recently fitted the high performance pacemaker extractors, a modified bmw cat that i made long cones for, for high flow, then a side-by-side 2.25" piping to a main muffler, again homemade and as large as the original muffler for deep exhaust note, then a modified 2.5" oem ef xr6 tailpipe. the engine is standard it goes like stink. its a 1988 ea 's' sedan manual with a 3.27 lsd.
to lessen wheel spin i use b'stone eagers 340 in 235/60x15 on original snowflake mags. very good traction. i'm yet to fit a piggy back ecu to see how that goes, then the new engine.
hope i give an idea on what to do.
cyaslater.

Alls forgiven (this time  ) MPFI=multi point fuel injection ie 6 injectors (one for each cylinder)

CFI= Centre Fuel Injection (think they have only two injectors and looks kinda like it has a carby on it) 8-)
