this is just an idea i had before any chance the thing would work at all is it going to affect tourque, bottom end, top end or performance.

where the second intake is leading is into the gap in the chassis which is located along side the drivers side shock tower.
I was also thinking you could have an aluminum or light steel scoop situated on the underside of the car funneling air up into the pod, sort of like an upsidedown dustpan with a 8 inch length of piping running up the the mouth of the pod.

you need to get yourself a set of extractors, as you'll find there's not a whole lot of room that side once you got some Pacey Comps or something fitted there - also they'd give you a s**t load bigger power increase than doing that...

if you would just place your pod where you've drawn it, it would actually decrease power.
you need them to suck cold air, and have minimal heat over the tubing itself.
If you relocated the battery to the other side of the car, and ran a piece of pipe down from the t/b to behind the front bar with a pod attatched, it would work better for sure.

its a good idea bringing it over to the left hand side because there will be less bends for the intake pipeing and a shorter travle to the TB, but the piping needs to be wraped in thermo tap and the battery needs to be moved and the filter needs to be boxed up.

the gains wont justify the meens u know.

or you can run the piping to the front of the rocker box it off there and make a custom scoop.

that might work better.

yeah get extractors to give little more room and maybe even a heat shield made up to cover them to separate that warm air from the underneath of the intake pipe depending on how well its HPC coated

they need to make an air filter that fits inside the 3in. tubing
you would have to clean it more regularly.
on the plus side, you can route it anywhere, and even make it look like the end of a vacuum cleaner, to go over the radiator as one big scoop.

walkinshaw what i was saying if you read it properly is dropping the second intake into the gap in the chassis which is probably say 6" from the lowest point of the headers so it won't actually be sitting above the headers themselves, i do have a basic concept of hot and cool air :D
but like i said it was just an idea..

uumm dont matter dude
just because hot air rises dont mean that there is not radient heat

the exhaust manifold puts out some serious heat
my will evaportate water after just 5 seconds of teh engine being on from cold!

the air around the exhaust will be hot as hell!
the only benifit would be to mount it under the car :)

or give up and put twin throttle bodies on it :)

yeah i understand, might just knock off some 4wd snorkels from work :D
one thing i might try is BNKRBR's idea might have a look at that tommorow that might work ok. i just wanna do everything differently from everybody else thats all so you may see a lot more of my silly ideas, practical or not :D

Why not leave the existing air intake but have a second intake under the passenger side headlight? Mine's got a setup like that, neat and out of the way and quite effective :)
