yeah we went at it from the lights. his first gear was shocking, i got him off the line easy then as soon as i clicked into 2nd gear i was off, and his car has low k's as well so yeah, i believe it has got to do with the amount of torque the i6 pull out. also the vt's are heavier.

The VT ss is only 40kg heavier than a base model EF (a fairmont like yours would be heavier than the VT ss).

The 5.7 makes more torque everywhere in the rpm range.

i been in a VT1 clubsport auto and that was nothin to brag about, i could see a lightly modded i6 beating it, but a gen3, your dreaming buddy, as everyone has said it would have to have serious issues (and the series one gen3's had serious issues......

A mate of mine in a ELXR6 manual with extractors thats it beat a VR berlina 5.0L with chip and full exhaust, he also beat a 5.0L VT SS but that same VT was beaten by a sightly modded ED XR6. The EL XR6 got beaten by a manual AU XR6 to. Just thought I would let ya know what goes on here

You're talking about a 5L. 5L's are s**t in factory form. The 5.7 Gen3 is a completely different kettle of fish.

If you supposedly beat this VT in your EF it is a series one, not a series 2.

he had a catback exhaust. Thats it, 13.9 seconds at heathcote raceway, if he still has the time slip ill chuck it up.

I sat right next to a VT clubby 5.0L till 120, they are nothing to brag about. VT 5L = heavy and underpowered

dosent the SS GenIII have wat more torque then the I6? and should have had a comfortable pass?

there's no comparison. the gen3 is superior to an i6 in every sense!
