looking at buying a new high flow cat off a person just wanted to know what is better

he says its a 200 cell is that good or bad like does it make it better if the rating is lower or higher. cheers :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Im guessing it means cells per square inch, the less cells the less restriction. 200 cell is what you would want to go for. If you go to something like 100 cell, i don't think they're legal for emissions.

CPSI basically means Cells Per Square Inch.
It is that honeycombed looking stuff inside a cat converter.

Basically from factory falcons come with 400CPSI cats which flow quite alright for a stock application but if upgrading people generally go for a 200CPSI cat.

Basically the less cells per square inch the better, HOWEVER 100CPSI cats can have a tinny sound and the EPA don't like them as they're pretty much unrestrictive releasing too many emissions etc etc

If you plan on putting it on a near stock falcon with exhaust and extractors a 200CPSI cat will be fine!

thanks heaps guys atm im am getting a ss induction aka growler air intake got esxtractors and down to a 2.5'' system expect i bought it with all theses on it and have a slim cata on it not sure what CPSI it has wanting to know if its even worth changing it to a lets just say a 200 cpsi as i am getting it tuned soon and want everything on my car before hand so everything flows nicely

any recomandations on what i should get to increase power on my ba xr6 cheers guys :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
