that would be correct ash...
that runs from the fuel tank to the carbon/purge canister, and from the canister to the purge solinoid then to the inlet manifold.....

Is a good idea to leave it attached... You could notice a fuel like smell coming in your air vents if you disconnect.

But you can re-route it as a lot of us have to clean up the engine bay. It is NOT a wire with shielding.

Or, if it is a wire with shielding then it's got me stumped.

If this is your engine bay then I guess you have noticed that you have very little in the way of air con pipes in that area, which clutters that portion up so much you may not notice that little pipe on others vehicles?
