I know it seems like a dumb question, but a mate of mine with a 6 cyl falc is having some transmission dramas... We decided that the first course of action would be to check the transmission fluid level... easy right? No. Where the f*** is the dipstick? The one on my V8 couldn't be more obvious and my old XF had one in exactly the same place...

they dont have one.
they have an inspection hole on the side of the transmission

not all have the dipstick. but if they do, it should be accessible from the drivers side of the car near firewall, sounds like where you're describing.

They cancelled the dipstick on the EF, although supposedly some have them.
Could be trans swaps though. Too many people putting 15w40 in their trans

Lol, thanks for the quick replies guys. Why Ford would put one in the V8's and not the 6's is beyond me!
Perhaps Ford realise that only V8 drivers can be trusted to know which hole to put it in...

I've seen EL I6s with trans dipsticks before, wierd i guess

Maybe they put them back in later models... The car in question is a series 2 EF GLi...

mine used to have one, so yeah s1 must of still had them.
dont see why ou wouldnt have one especially with the auto |

s1 have them (mine a 95) its got one
s2 don't

think they might have been slow phasing them out on the series 2. as ive got s1 and s2 ef's and they both have them
