Where in WA (Perth) can you buy off the shelf T5 conversion kits for EF Falcons? I've been lookin and lookin but cannot seem to find out where to look!!

I'm getting more and more serious about a 5 speed, and when I get totally serious, I would like to know where a good place is to buy one or next thing I will be paying 5k for a brand new one out of utter frustration!

So, Perth goers, where can you find the bits you need? 2nd hand, reconditioned, whatever you know.

Drop the box off at a trans workshop for a recon.

How much should it cost me to get a recon done?
Is it cheaper an exchange unit? IMO it's the same thing.

Is Mal Wood worth the money? About $2800 for the kit, then freight to WA, then installation (some of which I'll do myself).
I'm a little concerned should something be wrong with it, then communication between here and over East may cause trouble. So, is Mal Wood reliable? Not saying I'm going this way, there probably are better (and cheaper for me) options.

that's everything in brand new condition, so it is well worth it. If you add up the cost to recondition parts you buy, I think you'll roughly be up for a similar cost. I'm not sure, but I have a feeling..

I'll investigate what's most worth it for me, then save a little, then do it!

What is a T5Z and how is it different to a normal T5?

Probably not worth the extra: as long as you have the manual then you've pretty much got what Falcons are usually lacking.

The t5z is a t5 with better internals. They were fitted to the xr6t.

Have you considered just selling your car and buying a factory 5-speed?
