head gasket?

Leak in induction path, hence the louder induction noise, the car isnt metering correctly because of the leak hence the loss in power?

didnt tighten the dizzy? when you reved the car it backed off the timing a bit for the higher revs and it stayed backed off?

Placebo effect?

Am i close?

your cat collapsed?

your accelerator cable was stretched hardcore so it wasnt able to get to WOT?

someone had a s**t in your fuel tank?

timing issue related to a slipped harmonic balancer?

hey old mate, 25% of your answers were correct, seeing you gave 4 that means 1 of them is right, but which one, you might be the lucky new owner of an EA shell, lol.

yeah turns out his cat had collapsed, the induction noise was from the exhaust trying to get back out the intake valves, too much back pressure.

easy now you think about it, but hard to diagnose at the time, lol.

My cat collapsed after I changed my timing a while back too...
Took it for a spin, bounced it off the limiter once, and it suddenly became all rattly...
Coincidence?
Yes.
