Finally turfed out the 3.9 ecu that was running my ED XR donk and put it the original XR puppy... now it runs like s**t!!!! poping and constantly groaning out the air box... the injectors are louder.... and it has a miss and a flat spot!!!!
help!!!!! i have changed the fuel reg's over... that helped slightly.... but still runs like s**t compared to the 3.9 ecu i've had in there for 6 months....

any suggestions???

why was it running the 3.9 ECU?

is the ED XR6 engine in an ED or EA?

Have you given it time to relearn. Heck it took my ECU weeks to learn the new cam.

yeah give it time to learn the new stuff. since it wasnt used in ur car before its gotta repeat the process of correcting idle speed and stuff.

maybe the ecu is stuffed...

Yeah it runs REALLY bad... not like just taking the battery of for a few hours.....

It had a 3.9 ECU coz thats what i had to run before i got my smartlock by-pass.... the motor is in a ser1 EB..... hence the 3.9ECU

AHHH HELP!!!!!

I got 3 codes out of the xr ecu... CTS, ISC and o2 sensor....
I think they are 3.9 items. ( I only swapped blocks-not manifolds) would that be casuing a problem?

Turn's out its not an XR ECU its a 3.9 CFi ECU. doh!

Now i need to make use of a smarltokc by-pass i bought. would an EL ECU be any benifit?

LOL dude, check your part numbers. An ED XR6 one should say 92DT.
