Smashing a cat may cause increased power, but this won't last long, it'll begin to meltdown. When this happens, it will block right up! I have a peice of my old cat and it's melted, blocking the 'honeycomb', causing an 'exhaust brake' effect (for those who don't know, trucks use a partial valve in the exhaust to slow without using the brakes, hence the loud roar trucks make when they're slowing).

Blockages certainly cause power loss, think, what would the point be in getting larger exhaust (except the wikid sound)?

Smashing the CAT, is to remove all of the honeycomb, so its not there at all, just a hollow housing.

I said i did that to stop the annoying rattle and hi fuel consumption till i got to fix it. It is now fixed, no drama. See the afforementioned pics.
It now has a CAT, that works, can't half tell, smells like a f@rt/rotten egg gas smell.
