hey i have a 2V head that i want to put on the 170 pursuit motor i have in my xm. Will it fit on?? any thing i should know about doing it??

Should go straight on but the exhaust manifold is slightly different.

Wow, never heard of anyone wanting to do that lol.

"IF it does go on", i'd say that the 2V would have a bigger combustion chamber being from a 250, by bolting to a 170 it would end up with low compression... That's for that part, not sure if it's a bolt on item or not.

The 2V head fits you just to get a good head gasket for it as like Walker said the combustion chamber is bigger and if you use a standard 141 to 171 head gasket it will last 5 minutes and if you use a standard 250 one, the metal ring around the cylinder can burn out.
I did this conversion on my XP Deluxe I had 20yrs ago using a copper head gasket along with a mild cam i also swap the dizzy over to a 250 one 12v compared to 7.8v. You will also have to play around with the radiator hoses.

Yeah i remember that rad hose prob, i threw a 221 in my XB years ago after the 250 blew up, from memory the thermostat housing had a diff hose diam the the 250.... Can't remember exactly what i did to fix it though.

by memery i think the old 170 is shorter them the 200/250 block
