in my 97 EL the oil pressure gauge goes from half (3) when idling to nealry one nothc (5 1/2) of the red when holding it flat i have just changed the oil to gtx3 15w40 the oil that was in there beore (just bought that cara few weeks ago) the guage barley moved and it use to always sit on or around the 4 mark. is this abit high getting so close to the 6 mark does it mean there is something wrong or do i just have good circulation or something

oil pressure should always go up when you are revving because the oil pump is spinning faster. sounds ok to me. you only need to worry if it is on 0 when you are idleing.

As much as the above is true, check your oil pressure sender connection. Its a cylinderical thing on the intake side of the block, under the intake manifold. There's a single wire going to it. Check it. Funny things happen when they get unplugged and dirty...
