Only if your motor is a hybrid or if not you will need to use your EL head on the AU.

Pretty sure you can use 1673 cam with E-series rocker assembly on the AU head. Just can't mix and match AU and E-series running gear. You can also run AU running gear on an E-series head without problems.

Hey guys

So, I think I might be able to get my hands on a EL motor - hybrid with the AU at 170,000 km. Just wondering what I should get off the car that will help make the install into my EF easier ?

Also, what places would do a motor swap? Most mechanics?

o yeh you would have a few mechanics around the sunshine area that would do that for ya.i asked around every where and cheapest i found was in campbellfield for 500bucks but thats with me modding the sump which is going to cost around $160 roughly.which i have to leave now and get done.

Hi mate

I have the engine but now looking for a reliable mechanic to fit it for me. Struggling a little as some are saying that " oh once we have the engine, we will check the welsh plugs and change them "

Im looking for around $600 - $700 i think, just need to find someone im comfortable with or someone that they recommend

The bit with the welsh plugs is probably a good idea - they are cheap as and easy to replace - with the engine out - but if they go once its been installed it may mean pulling the engine out again to fix them..

Agree...I'd say get the welsh plugs done and if you can, get a new heater bypass piping if the one on the engine is slightly corroded. It is a good idea to get the pain in the a*** jobs done while the engine is out :).
