i recently brought a xf ute it has done 2 trips to perth from gero and it was running fine on the way back to gero it started playing up i would put my foot down to overtake and i would get to 120 and it would just die to 80 and start chugging i hafto take my foot of the exelarator and then put it back on again to go.
Car has been sitting for a bout a month now can anyone help me??

blocked fuel filter or shagged fuel pump??

could it have anythink to do with the carby or would it be the fuel lines??

what carby weber? if it does what its doing its starving for fuel maybe blocked jets or closed needle and seat.... if its a stock xf weber make sure all hoses and wires a still on....if you wanna fix a xf carby put it in the bin,go to the wrecker and get an xe weber....if its got a holley on it same thing its running out of fuel check float level or power valve......like was said before check filter and fuel line for blockage.... also power valve on weber can cause this, clean it up around the ball bearing use some metho....if the power valve on a weber is stuffed throw it in the bin its part of the body of the carb...hope it helps

thanks for everyones help my ute is now going brought some carby cleaner and replaced the melted spark plug leads and spark plug's it now runs fine
