Hi i have an 1991 XF ute 250 crossflow that i have just changed the sparkplugs in and i noticed that there was oil on the end of ther third spark plug.
Does enyone know why it might have oil on it as it is only a very small amount but all the others are dry and if you sit the car for a couple of days it will run really rought but if you pull the spark plugs out and clean them it runs properly again.

stem seals? I had a 929 years ago with crap valve stem seals and the plugs use to gum up all the time. Does she blow smoke?

It does ocasinaly blow smoke when you first start it but the fuel that is in it isnt the best and may be causing that.

Could be valve stem seals, worn rings or even head gasket...
How many km has it done?

The original instraments say 252296 but i dont know if they still work so it could have done way more than what it is showing.

If the 252,296 is correct, and it's been looked after, then I'd say valve stem seals. The 4.1 is the Chuck Norris of engines...
