Hi!

Not sure where to put this topic so I'll post it here!

Thinking about buying an XR6T for myself. I am 22 and finding insurance is hard. I have had 2 quotes above $2k (NRMA and Young & Cool) so far and waiting on one from Justcar..

Anyone have any other suggestions??

Well I just did a quote with RACV, and based on where I live Warragul, its $1200 and that's with my age. I say shop around, Just Cars and those sorta places are more expensive IMO.

AAMI will tell you to get f**k as they dont insure turboed or V8 vehicles for under 25's.
I got a quote through RACV for an XR6T which is less than what I pay for my FBT, lol

What's your FBT cost you. I'm looking at an EL GT, and Shannons want over $2K a year for it.

I just bought a new BF xr6 turbo ute, and I dont have insurance. Cant find anyone to insure me, and IMO $3k on insurance is a lot of money.

Then don't drive it until you've insured it!

have the ownership transfer to your old man & get him to insure it. that way you only pay for the high premiums {under 25} if theres a mishap.

or transfer it to me, I can get supercheap insurance for it.

Yeah with modifing I had no probs with RACV, some things they don't need to know, like a cam, but they know it has extractors and exhaust and lowered and wheels, and my insurance is cheaper than my Mums and my GF's 4cyl Magna...go figure?

If you'd seen the amount of BA's at the auctions with P-Plates, specially the turbo versions, then you'd understand why no one wants to touch you. And when they do, expect to be paying through the nose.

Why dont you try Ford insure as well. They are usually pretty nice to those who buy a new Ford.

Well it is a lot less than the $40g odd you paid for the car. And if in an accident with another driver who is at fault and they have no insurance you will be stuffed for years.

Fair enough if you dont want to pay full comp, thats your decision but at least get 3rd party so if you do crash, the innocent party wont have to f**k around trying to get money off an insured driver.
