My suggestion would be to leave the amp on the box it is a lot cleaner in look and will actually produce a better sound quality as your speaker cables are shorter (less power lost). i have been running my system with amps attached to box for 12 months and they have not suffered any problems at all and this is with 2000 watts rms and almost 160 db. As long as all cables are connected correctly they will never vibrate loose.

Here is a pic of my setup.

Hope that helps

and with the amp on the sub box i don't know.. it dose look nice and neat but im not keen on the idea. what about on the rear parcel shelf?

i just finished pulling the sound system out of my XF, (shes of to the carpark in the sky)
both my amps were attached to the sub-boxes, and have been for over a year now,
both amps are fine,

think about it, there are sections of the car that will vibrate a hell of alot more than the sub box,
but in the end, it all vibrates, and if it doesn't, then i doubt the box will do so enough to damage the amp...

well, thats my opinion anyways, if someone has proof, id like to hear it so i can go remove myn from the boxes lol
