hi, just a couple of questions..
i recently got my JL e4300 amp, which will when installed power my front JL splits (70w RMS) from the front channles and a sub from the rear which i havnt got yet, but will most likely be 12", not sure on a power figure though... my questions is, when it comes to wiring, do i need to get a $150 wiring kit like a stinger one i saw at JB hifi, or will a cheap ebay one (http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Professional-8-Gage-Complete-Amp-Amplifier-Wiring-Kit_W0QQitemZ260084096428QQihZ016QQcategoryZ102568QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem) with a better pair of RCAs do the same job? the power cable and ground cable etc would all be the same yes? it would just be the RCAs and fuse holder that would be different?..
and also, what gauge am I meant go get, from some reading i think 8 gauge will be fine? correct me if im wrong..
thanks

Greetings,

Personally, I would go for a MINIMUM of 4ga to give a bit
of " leeway " for when you get a sub - not knowing its
specs.

Place the main fuse about 30 - 40cm from the battery on the
POWER line going to the AMP.

As for fuse value, I would use around 80 amp ( assuming the total of the fuses on the AMP do not exceed this ).

Also you will need 2 sets of RCAs. to maintain fading control
or Sub level control.

As for cost ..... It depends on how much you can afford.
AEROPRO make some " reasonable" sets for under a $100.
Or you can go the expensive sets.
Or you can mix and match separate parts from places like JAYCAR, AUTOBARN, REPCO, JB etc.

Good Luck
