Hi guys,I have a problem with the central locking kit that im installing, There all mounted in the doors, but with the wiring im having problems.

Firstly, The White and Brown wires from the master lock are connected to the REDBLK and YELLOWBLK wires. the 3 wires from the master lock is going to the relay box. and the green blue wires are also going to the REDBLK and YELLOWBLK wires. Thats how mines setup, now it all doesnt work, the unlock/lock switch on the centre console doesnt work.

Can someone tell me where ive gone wrong? And sorry if i havent explained something correctly!

Thanks!

G'day XR6 EF

Yes ive run the power wire to the dark green with a yellow stripe and the ground to the black wire.

I dont have an aftermarket alarm fitted. Just a note, I extended the master door wires because they were too short, i will go thru that just to make sure theres no loose connection.

But other than that, I dont know what im missing here.

Cheers all.

feel free to have a look at mine, I have fitted(with the help of friends) a jaycar kit to my EL(sedan) using the pre-existing wiring, apart from the drivers door which required more wires. I also have it working with the remote.

okay here is what i have so far(without pics, I will send them shortly).

There is a little black plug in the BEM located under the dash. This is the only one you need to touch.
Pin 10 is Yellow.
Pin 9 is Red/Yellow
The above should help.

Anyway I have the following
Pin 10) Yellow -> Brown from the black box
Pin 9) Red/Yellow -> White
Pin 8) Not Connected
Pin 7) Black -> Black
Pin 6) Not Connected
Pin 5) Yellow -> Red

The rest you should not need to touch.
From the little black box there should be a blue wire and a green wire.
The Blue needs to connect to the Red/Yellow stripe wire coming from the wiring loom.
The Green needs to connect to the Yellow/Black strip wire coming from the wiring loom.

Pin 7) has the Black wire from the black box soldered on to the wire that is already going to the BEM.

Pin 5) The Yellow wire going in to the BEM needs to stay there however the Red wire from the black box needs to be soldered to it.

To solder a wire to it strip a small section of wire and wrap around and solder in place, cover with electrical tape when done.

I have the rear actuators doing the reverse of the front actuators due to their position. I thought it weird that it mentioned this in the guide, however it must be done if you want all you doors to lock at the same time.

With mine like this the center button works, the boot button works, the fuel button works, and the remote works completely(as in both the boot and door buttons work as they should).

Have a look at this link and see if it helps at all with your wiring.
http://oldholden.com/?q=node/33201&size=_original

I've put a few central locking kits in. (though none had a button on the dash, they were remote or connected to an alarm)

While the wires colors you describe sound familiar i'm not going to be able to tell you what goes where unless i know what each of your wires does, and what it's connected to. Were there instructions?

The drivers door solenoid has more wires going to it.
This is so when you use a key to lock the drivers door manually, the drivers door solenoid sends a signal out and all the other solenoids get triggered as well.

You will know if the system works if you grab the drivers door solenoid and push /pull it. Do the others move? If they move the opposite way you just need to swap the blue and green wires over.

ive recently done mine. My kit was like identical to the jaycar name kit just nt that brand. i didnt cut any of the wires that go to master door lock actuator. On the door lock relay box the two shorter wires, that normally used for alarms and stuff brown and white wires. These are teh wires i taped in to the lock and unlock wires my setup works fine. i opened the really box, the short brown and white wires are paralleled to the brown and white wires which go to the master lock. Mine works just like it used to.

Thanks Brax for the pictures, they helped.

Everythings finished, they are working perfect! But the car battery is running out really fast? could that be because i wired the power up to the headunit? Should i do it thru the BEM?

Cheers.

shouldn't really make a difference, check your power connections and make sure there is no earth leak from a bare wire anywhere

there is usually a wire in the loom that comes from the accessories for the radio as the radio is meant to have a 12v and an accessory wire.
