the box still has to be larger than 1 cubic foot for a 15" sub, it has to have a minimum face of 15"X15" to bolt the sub on and unless the depth is about 6inch, which i doubt, yuor calculations are way off.

The Kicker L7 Sola Baric subs are bloody awesome.
I just sold mine to a mate, but they're easily one of the loudest and pretty damn clear subs i've heard. Seriously too loud for me, and i like a bit of bass.... That was just one with their 600.1 Amp, but running at 740wrms. |

yeah the good thing about the kicer amps is that they are way underrated. my 1200.1 puts out 1500 rms and man i have a loud car but yeah its designed for spl so what can i expect lol

Well no actually the internal volume would haveto be a minimum of about 13inches as a 15inch sub is not measured by it's surface area, rather from the diameter of the frame. They measure ALL subs like this, you measure an average 10 inch and it'll be more like 7-8inch surface area. My mate has the box and i'll measure the internal volume. When i say a cubic foot i mean 1fx1fx1f. I'm telling you that it's not far off a cubic foot... |

Yeah i was surprised whe i openedup the box the Amp came in. Because that was the first time i had bought a Kicker amp, i didn't realise it was rated at 600, but tested to 740wrms.
I regret selling the sub, but a mate ofmine can get Fuzion gear at dealers prices, so i'm not too upset...... I feel sorry for your ears already!!!! |

yeah many people over here like sony and clarion and alpine for some reason... not that im baggin them but i just dont like their gear. the kicker hyundai in sydney is running 4 18" solo x subs on 16 amps with 20000rms in total
geez id love to have that kinda cash

You'd need a box, that'd be at least 15"x15" to fit the sub in, that only leaves. 7.68" of depth. I doubt yur 15" subbie is less than 8" deep. 12"x12"x12" (1' cubed) = 1728ci (28.3L) 15"x15"x7.68" = 1728ci (28.3L) Please measure the box up and let us know the measurements, those how can do simple math, don't beleive you can physically fit a 15" sub in a 1CF box. Some quick googling reveals 15" subs have a recommened box size of between 5 and 9 cubic feet , alot of ifs and buts there (141 to 254 Litres). A 5CF box would be 20" a side, 9CF would be 25" a side.

I believe you need to excersise some common sense in this case rather than simple math 
Think about what your saying. Your measuring the EXTERNAL dimensions of the box and coming up with what needs to be the INTERNAL dimensions. The INTERNAL volume is approx 1foot cubed, therefore, you need to measure the sides of the INSIDE of the box, which as i said before is about 13x13x11 or so inches (rough guestamate). Am i getting through??
