My EBII has a low series deck i think, but i really like it's interface, it has large volume buttons at easy reach, etc. But it's on the blink. It has constant power supply, so the blink is internal i think.

I would like to fit another ford deck, ideally one that will just plug in, but not absolutely crucial. I would like good sound of course and push button volume. A later model seems a better way to go, more reliable at least.

It seems i could remove a section of dash below the existing deck if i wanted to fit a larger face, it seems like it's been designed to be able to do this.

There are 4" speakers in the doors and 6x9" holes in the rear i will fill in time (there are just some 4" in there at the moment).

Any suggestions?

If you want something to plug straight in, then its another EB/D deck for you.

Anything else and your up for wiring, so why not just an aftermarket? even basic kenwood/sony/pioneer etc etc cd tuners are only $90-100 new!

If you really want a stock HU, i'm pretty happy with my EF Fairmont system, but you'll still need to wire it.

Thanks for that pimp. I was keen for a plug in because i only just finished re-fitting the plug which had been cut off, the car previously had a good aftermarket stereo but it had been removed.

I guess i'll either see if i can get an EB/ED deck for next to nothing, or do as you suggest and get an aftermarket unit, i didn't realise you could get an aftermarket deck worth getting for $100.
