I'm currently putting in my DVD headunit and theres a wire for parking brake to watch DVDs. I've been told I can just earth this and wont have to worry about having hand brake up to watch dvds, but I've earthed the cable and it continues to display "Parking Brake" and wont let me watch dvds.

Any ideas??
