Hey guys, i was thinking, what happens when you have like 4 amps. just say two are four channel and two are 2channel( for subs). how do you run them through RCA's when the HU only gives 3 pre-outs and you have six RCA's to fill. ANd you dont wanna split the rcas.

Well, you open up your headunit and do fancy modifications to produce more RCAs.
Or you buy a new headunit with more RCA outputs.
Or you just use splitters.
Or buy the amps that have RCA inputs and RCA outputs!
Or you get rid of some of the amplifiers!

Well, if your some fancy technical electrican person you might somehow, someway (highly unlikely) be able to modify your headunit to provide more RCAs.

But that'll provide the exact same result as use RCA splitters, for 4x the cost, and 20x the effort.

Just use splitters.

yeah i think that would be the go. But so i don't lose the voltage drop i would probably buy amps with rca Out.

Cheers

Tanks for the help

wtf are you being this anal about the RCA's for? the change in signal voltage from using a splitter to drive 2 amp channels wont be noticeable, but if you're that picky, you'll be better off buying some line drivers to bump up the RCA voltage anyway

as it is, the SQ will be affected a greater amount by bridging a 4 channel amp to 2 channels than by using a splitter

a smarter way would be to use either 2 bigger 2 channel amps for fronts and rears (IMO not really worthwhile amping the rears anyway) and a pair of monoblocks for the subs, or a BIG 4 channel and a pair of monoblocks

So true.
mmm second battery :D
new alternator 8-)
big fuses  , and
2 heavy current drawing amps  .

either way u have two optons
1. Use y adaptors for the rca lines. (i recommend this)
2. Use RCA outputs form the amp. (some older amps lost the voltage in the rca lineouts thus making other amps work harder)

If going with one, choose most suitable spot to use them to keep them concealed, either off the deck lines or at the amps, remember not to x them over hahaha
