well its time for me to get a new battery so im just asking everyones thoughts on what i should get. I dont have a big system, with only a 600wrms amp (2ohm), a 200wrms amp (4ohm) and then just my ps2 and screen, but i plan on getting a 1500wrms monoblock and another sub soon and using my 600wrms amp for speakers (which is 4 ch, currently running at 2ohm although at 4ohm will make 75wrms per channel), as the sub is a bit underpowered atm. I probably have a budget of $300 and im just wondering what people would recommend me getting.

cheers nick

Delcor unit will set you back under $200.00, there pretty bloody awsome, I had one before I got my Optima Bluetop, it's had 900cca, was bigger than the original battery in the EF, but with a pair of pliars to bend the side of the battery tray it fitted fine! Made such a difference to how quick the car started!
Only reason I changed to the Optima was because I wanted to mount the abttery in the boot on it's side and needed one that wouldn't leak...

Few choices for that budget mate. If its gonna be located in the factory location then either a D34 Yellow Top optima (750 cold cranking amps @ -17.7~'c and cranking amps of 870 - reserve capacity 120 mins)

Odyssey - ODPC1200 2150A starting amps but 530 continual cranking amps.

Exide deep cycle premium - CCA 460-650 depending on model - PDIN77 650cca with 125 min reserve capacity

Depends on if u know anyone in the autoelect/battery distribtuion buiso to see which is gonna fit ya budget but these are all top batteries...id lean towards the optim or odyssey

Delcor s**t all over Excide/Champion/Motorgaurd batteries (there all the same battery, just different brand name sticker on them depending where they are sold) - more bang for your buck. We sell Exides at work.

yeah good question ^^^ anyway i just scored an Optima D34 yellowtop for $300 cause the place is closing down 8-) just wondering is it alright to not use the battery box, as i dont think it will fit in it, and also how do you remove the old battery from the battery box, cause i cant tip it upside down cause its a normal battery, and i wanna use it for the paddock basher

finally, what have you guys who use them done about the negative terminal, cause its smaller than my older battery meaning the earth wire isnt really secure :?:
