ive started my full install of 2 12 inch pioneer subs into my EL... Ive now fastened the board behind my rear seats which i was originally planning to mount the subs onto. but ive since discovered there is not enough volume behind this board for my subs. So was thinking of building a fully enclosed, fully ported. Which according to pioneer requires less volume than a fully sealed box. To give you an idea of what i am proposing ive attached a quick mock-up on paint. I just want to get you oppinions on this sort of set-up and the difference to fully sealed, etc. also how would i go wireing it up?
(the best thig about this idea is that it keeps the subs hidden from prying eyes....)

looking good except you should need a smaller box to seal it not to port it.

thanx for the comments guys. yeh ive ditched the idea of porting the box and just making it fully sealed. They're going to fire into the boot because theres no room behind the backseat.

MRE-40L, thanks for the offer. its funny when i seen the thread on your install it inspired me to do mine. Learnt a few tricks from you to... So thanx[/quote]

was a good day today, screwed everything together and sealed all the gaps in the box. All thats left is to hook subs and amp up and let her rip, but that'll have to come tomorrow... gotta go to work now so nothing can be done tonight... (damn christmas rush)

haha, yeh i got my inspiration from another member on here too.

For now im gunna get it all working and then after christmas ill probably end up carpetting the box. But behind the seat im worried about it looking a bit boring, so im thinking of ways to make it look a bit better. Was thinking maybe an embroyded blue oval or something.....i dunno, any ideas?

well now that the box is in and secure it'd make it hard, but what i wanna do is cut some type of hole/logo whatever in the main board behind the seats, and replace that bit with perspex, and get something going on inside the box too

uh if i cud just offer one little piece of advice, it wud be make it 2 little boxes instead of one big box, beacuse if u blow one driver u wont fry the other. due to 2 much volume of air 2 move, thats all, apart from that it looks awsome.

for behind the seat's u could use a ford / fpv beach towel or some thing along those lines to cover it up .
