hey, was just reading all the sticks about speaker and amps etc, then had a browse through for the TOR pioneer speakers (TS-C and TS-D).
A lot of people seem to have them, but just wondering how they find them? anyone think bad of them?

also, is anyone running a pioneer amp?
just by reading the amp guide pyroay, and he was saying that amps with a signal to noise of under 90db are crap, but all the pioneer ones are 90db.
lastly, anyone know the dampening factor for the pioneer amps?

thanks a tonne!!

I find the TS-C 's are fantastic!
and as for the Amps,
My Pioneer Amps (old but good)
2 channel S/N is 105DB (IEC-A Network)
4 channel S/N is 108DB (IEC-A Network)

i like pioneer. the only thing that isnt pioneer is the audiobahn amp.....oh and the sub that im borrowing of my bro in law since he isnt using them which are JL....but my 10" sub is a pioneer.

i think they are worth the money. there are other good brands out there.....i think response are better then pioneer for their value. pioneer HU are great and speakers are good quality. just sound reproducing is not all that compared to other expensive ones.

still good imo

do you find they give a really clear sound even when playing fast "doof doof (stupid techno freaks....)"
as in whats the sub response like, although i guess this would also depend on the sub dampening factor...
lastly, do they loose much quality at high volume?
thanks again

are you asking bout the speakers or his 10" pioneer woofer? I take it by u saying do they loose much quality at high volume your referring to the speakers...you'll find there fine depending on whether you run them from an amp or HU and then it comes down to how you have it tuned....plus if your runnning them from an amp how youve tweaked the gains etc as that can really improve the way the system sounds or it can make it sound like s**t too :P

I've got the TS-C160R splits as my front stage.
Nice speakers, pretty clear.
Run the tweeters on the -3db slope on the crossover though, I have mine mounted ON the dash (not factory position) firing into cabin and they sounded a bit harsh.
I even had to pull a bit of high frequency s**t out with my EQ.
Only criticism I've had mine with mine is a s**t connection at the terminal that required soldering after it rattled loose on the driver speaker (door opening and closing I'd guess). Fine now.
And they aren't the most powerful speakers out there.
Rated to 50wrms from memory.
I've putting a little bit more through mine, and they are handling it alright, as long as you don't go over the top.
Oh, and sound deaden your doors, brings the midrange alive.

my 10" woofer is old....its a free-air sub so its not clear but puts out. it muffles but u can still feel the vibrations. but im moving into the boxed subs now and they are much clearer. the sub response aint that great hence the muffling but i think the new subs are better. speakers are great so long as ur set up is great. i think this goes for any speakers. my rear 8" 3 way pioneer speakers give really good clear mid and high frequencies. low isnt too great but at times it blends in with the sub making it sound louder but not vibrate more....good thud thud. my fronts are still stock so they sound not that bad for stocks i must say.

I reckon for price and quality pioneer is hard to match - response is still good with their range speakers and amps!! Pioneer headunits and speakers are good - also im a fan of what they make - but if i had more money i would go for high self stuff - but got to budget when young and not much working going on!

Id say alpine type r or response. if you went response speakers i'd use a alpine head unit.

I think pioneer is the best for what we are doing. If i was to set up a SQ and SPL system i would use something better.

Im running a Kenwood head with pioneer speakers and a HOS sub n amp.

Tuning...I had my sub tuned for high volumes so it sounds great but when my mums in the car you cant hear it at all.

Alpine is a better brand atm but i love my pioneer.

the ts-c and ts-d speakers are the best moderatly priced speakers you can get. i am about to put a set in my car to replace the alpines, they have lost their touch, and as far as dampening factor goes, you wont need to worry about it unless your doing sound comps.

personally i find a lot of pioneer gear very "blingy"

all show and not all that much go.
theres plenty of better stuff around in the same price range.

that said, the ts-c and ts-d speakers are actually pretty good. you will more than likely be happy with them, but i guess its all about what you are used to
