Hey man, that's awesome. I'm looking at doing a similar install, but I want my subs firing forwards. How is your board behind the seats mounted? If I mount the same board, I'll cut an opening for my subbox to be pressed up against it. My amps will be on the back (in the boot) and because I managed to pick up a 5th 17" stalker fairly cheap, I want to show off my spare. The plan was to stick some ply or thin mdf under the carpet, cut out a circle and replace with perspex. The whole cover will be hinged and hopefully I could put a blue neon under the spare wheel.

My only problem is to decide whether to use the 2cu ft sealed box for 2 12's sealed, or for one 12 and port it.

Ya think this could all work? I'm not paying an installer so some mates are going to help.

i'll try and get a better pic but there is no board it the moment. i got a custome made box the is exactly the same height and with of the ef's and el's shelf under the parcel shelf and the box is slightly slanteled at the rear so it does not hit the back of the seat. i have held it down but chaining the top of the box to the chassis

i anm going to face the subs into the car when i get the chance as the subs are completely demolishing my boot and because there alpines they throw out alot of bass so i want to throw it into the cabin now.

yes there is a second power supply. i have a capacitor mounted on the back of the box. the capacitor is 1.5 farads and does the job very nicely and i also found when i installed the capacitor i noticed that my subs got bloody loud so i am running on o db of gain at the moment and it's still bloody loud

Can anyone tell me what the perspex does exactly? (Other than let you see into the box)

ummm....if you put it on your head when it rains it help you not to get wet. :D

Nah but seriously what do you mean. It seals the box so you have a sealed enclosure, but it needs to be thick so it doesn't have much vibration and movement occur.

Hope that helps.

Cheers

Hey man, if you were referring to what I said, I meant that I'd have my sub box behind the seat, but because I have my spare wheel the same as the rest of my 17's, I'm going to "show it off" by removing the carpet over the wheel and putting a 22" perspex cirlce there instead.

I just borrowed your idea slightly today - cost bugger all really. I'm reasonably happy with the sound - not as loud as a box in the back of the boot - but loud enough.
