I'm looking to do something similar with my xt fg. but just to get a full idea of how to build it, can you post a pic with the seats down looking in from there? Is it just a front panel with open back? Or a full box?
Not sure how exactly to go about building the enclosure... :/

Sounds good to me.

Basic but easily removable in-case I need the space. I can also fit a 6 drawer tool chest in the boot with all that in there lol.

18mm MDF, sealed inside and out, screwed every 100ish, not sure how I will join yet... But will make it right the first time instead of having to make another a few months down the track.
Just figuring out volume now, will fall short but really I won't be putting it in any competitions... So I'm happy anyways...

IMO, you'd be better off going for at least 18mm thick MDF for a sub box, just for that extra rigidity

Alternatively, build internal bracing. You want the box rigid enough to not flex it's walls.

Flexing is wasted sound power.

Give that a crack too, just get some extra wood while I'm there tomorrow. Run a few lengths down and around the larger faces. Any other suggestions?
I do want to do this right the first time...

Agreed!

A mate of mine built a box for a DD3510 out of 16mm MDF he had laying around at home. Box was fairly long with no bracing to start with, and with the volume up, you could see the longer sides of the box flexing a bit lol . Internal bracing, and a double front baffle fixed that up nicely.

Basically just the panel where the sub mounts to is doubled up, i.e 2 layers of MDF glued and screwed together.
