i was just wondering if you could use an au steering wheel volume controle with aftermarket head units.

i own a ef with no button tabs on my steering wheel, and was wondering if it is possible to do. because the volume controls on my dodgy head unit are very annoying.

thanks
rushed

might be headunit dependent, but generally i'd say no as i've never seen any head units with the same plugs or anything on the back...

It is dependant on the new headunit itself
There was a brand (I can't remember which one, it was either Pioneer or Alpine), but they were compatible with the standard steering wheel switches, provided that you bought the adapter plug.
I know that with the pioneers, you could buy steering wheel controls, but they had to be mounted to the outer rim of the wheel IIRC

You can buy some Stinger accessory that allows you to do it, quite expensive though from memory.

There was a Stinger component out there that connects into the loom.
