A set of them up front

with one of them

That way you will have a good sounding setup and 2 left over channels to run a small sub or the rear speakers.

IMO the best bang for your buck your going to get. If you buy both items at once you can definately con them into doing the 4+ price. That makes it $315 and plenty left over to get wiring and stuff.

Are you saying $300-$400 as the budget for both Front and Rears or is this the money for each.

As Id recommend Alpine Type-R 6.5" splits for the fronts....they rrp @ $349-399

But that depends on ya answer to my 1st Q :)

Well will you powering these via an amplifier or head unit ? no point spending big on any front, rear or combo of the two if your will severly under power them etc...just a waste of money then .. ?

Unless you buy 2nd hand your going to struggle to get something better then the jaycar stuff and it leaves you open for expansion if wanted.

To be perfectly honest with u...and other guys in the know will agree...put up with the existing system for now until you can save some more money mate...seriously...that aint a big budget even for cheap gear....not the best head unit either but most do the job well enough....

I didnt mean it like that dude....what im saying tho is yes u may/may not have the cash for a killer competition system.....thats no deal....was more for that i prefer to give advice and advise ppl to spend to their needs but also to get the job done the first time and whether its budget or not the aim is for u to be happy with it, not blow it after a few cranks or that after all the dyi install work, spent ya hard earned $$$ that it dont sound like tinny s**t :P .... imo leave the rears and spend the money on some nice fronts.... like the alpine type-r components... rrp $349 SPR-17LS I think off the top of my head....they will be slightly under powered running off that HU instead of an amplifier since the drivers are rated nominally at 75w RMS...but meh will still go hard and sound a treat...in the end its up to u

^^^do it, then adjust your headunit to put more power through the fronts, for your budget will sound better than gettin new fronts and rears

...I have blaupunkt components in my bedroom that isn't going anywhere...they are 6.5" though so might need spacers for the front of the car...they haven't been used before and you can take them off me for $60 + postage at will. BTW I donate about 1-6% to FM (I roll a dice and see what I donate :P)

phong =P~

I tried to go semi budget on my sound system overall i have spent around $800+ which includes a 4 Channel AMP 45 RMS (Sony) 2x 1300W Pentagon Subs (Sony) 6" Splits (Pioneer) all running of that AMP... Has absoliutly no power for the subs... once i buy a MONO Bloc to run em properly that will be another $220+ and i allready had Kenwood ^x9'S in there froma few years ago and basic kenwood Deck so i would save and make sure u havr around atleast 600+ for a basic entry level setup
