i have a pair of EF mirrors i wish to put on my car (EB) i took my old one off to pre fit to see what needs to be done.

i found that i need to drill 1 hole and also found that the black strip at the window that ran under the bottom of the old mirror comes up just over an inch short with the ef mirror, so does that mean i need to get the weather strips from the EF as well ?.

Yeah, the strip from an EF/EL will fit just fine.

ok i ended up getting it done, found i had yto do alot not just add 1 drilled whole.

1 you need to drill 2 holes each side.
2 you will need the door window weather strips for front
3 will need rear EF wagon weather strips

you need the front weather strips to make up for the gap between the weather strip and the mirror, using the EB weather strip you get almost a 1 and a half inch gap between the weather strip and the mirror.

And to match the front ef weather strip you will need one from a EF wagon as a ef sedan will not fit its shorter.

i haven’t done the wiring as yet but will later.

this is the gap left behind if you use the EA/EB/ED window weather strip

This is how it looks like if you use the weather stips from a EF
