Hi all,

Does anyone have a clear photo of the back of an NL fairlane?

Been searching here and on google images.. only found one really bad blurry one.

Thinking of seeing if there is anyway to use the garnish on a falcon..

not saying I would, but just want to photoshop it and see what I can come up with...

rgds

Frank

I like that much better than the standard EL rear...

Wonder how hard it would be to modify an NL garnish to fit an EL.. ...... I had the chance to grab a garnish yesterday and didn't...

have to do some measuring I think...

I wouldn't mind that rear bar on my EF and the chrome number plate surround under my Fairmont garnish...

would the bar be a straight swap?
I think soo...

Nope, will not fit unfortunately. Seeing as the Fairlane/LTD is a long wheelbase car, the bumpers are alot longer.

In addition, if you're after a Fairmont Ghia chrome bumper insert, they're no longer available :(

The boot on the Fairlane's are a different shape too, so therefore the garnish won't fit.

I know.. didn't say it would be easy it will probably require significant mods..

end result will be unique and mine own though..

sweet.. I just picket up an NL garnish in perfect nick for free...

did a trial position, and it is close to fitting already..

may not require huge mods at all.. and I have a spare boot lid to get it right with...

A quick photoshop. (really really quick). keeping in mind that I have EL lights now so red and white like the garnish.

Image

The height is the same.... the width is the same.. just the NL lights go up in straight line and the EL's curve their way up... this should be doable and be interesting when it is done..

I like the look of that... it is perhaps the fix for the EL rear that I was hoping for I have red and white EF lights on the back now so it blends well...

and its different..
