Just wondering if anyone has tried those car polishers that you can buy from Supercheap.
They are about $60 or so and include buffing pads etc. |

i have one and it seems to work alrite, not the best but does the job. turns out a lot better than doing it by hand.

just make sure it is the variable speed ones
they look like a small 9" angle grinder not the single speed POS then u can buy good quality polishing and buffing pads from a auto paint store that fit onto the spindle or stick onto the pad i have the superworks one and it is great just remember when polishing never to leave the polisher in 1 spot keep the thing moving always!

I just bought the Meguiars G220 one. Haven't tried it yet as it doesn't come with pads and i need to order the pads.
Quality finishes are in direct relationship to the gear you use. That includes the polish, the pad and the machine. I suggest you PM Aurora98 as he is the resident expert in all such matters. That is who I call on with all matters relating to car finish. |

Thanks for the feedback guys.
I am trying to repair my roof and bonnet on AU Falcon. Congo Green It would appear that the clear coat is starting to go chalky in places. I have used some of that Autoglym Paint Renovator by hand and it does an ok job. Any tips as to what else i can do. I had it done properly last year but even after keeping the waxes and polishes up to it...it still has faded again. I know i am going to have to get it resprayed at some stage but just trying to delay the inevitable. I mainly use Meguiars or Mothers. have been using a bit of Autoglym of late and they arent too bad. |

i got a mothers wax attack palm polisher thingo the other day and it put a great coat on my car looks awesome.
no good for scratch removal and you have to wipe the wax off by hand but it does save alot of time and is fun to use!!

since we're on the topic of polishing..
my car has pretty bad water makes, thank to the owner before me and his love for parking next to bore water. what would you guys reccmend? i just really wanna get rid of it, it looks s**t. cheers steve

Sic XH - sounds like you will need an abrasive product
Driven Finish Restorer is fantastic on water spots thanks to it's non gritty but sharply faced aluminium oxide particles, it's one hell of a strong water mark remover and without causing mess or haze in the paint when used correctly which is not hard at all Prima Cut and Swirl are two others that will conquer the water marks An orbital or rotary with it would be the best bet but if the rotary is out of your league and it needs that, contact des at auto fx wa Typically, oxidation that is chemically removed or abrasively removed won't come back if you get every last bit of it and you protect the paint with a top quality acrylic, glass or polymer sealant Zaino, Driven Marine, Toughseal, GLARE, Wolfgang, Blackfire etc

im just printing it off and heading down to the shops to get all the gear i need right now. cant wait to get those ugly water marks off
