Hi All,

Yes it's the old HID headlight caper (again) but with a twist. I've been searching for aftermarket lamps/different stock ones and considering putting HID globes in the stock XR lamps when I put my new front bar on. Mainly because the previous owner who painted the bar didn't mask off the lights and pained most of them too..

However I have noticed that HELLA do a 90mm bi-xenon D2S lamp as well as a 90mm Halogen hi-beam module. Both of which are pretty darn close to the original size and shape of the stock lamps. Aside from the halogen lamp having a H9 bulb.

I will be making my own custom head-lamp brackets as the stock ones are ok but a little worse for wear so variations in fitment etc won't be a problem. My question to the fordmods community is there anyone else out there who has replaced their stock XR lamps with aftermarket ones, either due to the rarity of the original lamps or to do a proper HID conversion?

Any information on the subject would we awesome!
