bob hall at canberra car styling told me he can do an XR kit for me for around $1000. minus the bonnet vents .. hes a good man looks after FordMods members, thats for an XR should be much the same for a Gli. Freight and fitting extra but id say no more than about another $600 topps.

Do you mean wou want the XR quad lights as well? If so then double the price of the bodykit.

Im fairly sure an XR front conversion is about $1000 as you have to get all the lights, indicators etc to make it all work.

Then bodykit will be around $1000 plus of course paint. So basically for an xr front, bodykit fitted and painted your looking at well over $2000+ or for just the bodykit fitted and painted anywhere from $1200-1600 i guess.

Yeah maybe we might skip the XR front, wont the side skirts look funny being at a different line to my original front bumper??

I am happy with the sound of the money side of things, any idea where i can get it done in east side of melb??

The bottom lip that you see on an XR can be bought seperately. This means that it will match up to the skirts and the rear.

I think its about $350 from ssv.

f**k rip off but still better than 1000.

I have had the full kit on my Gli for a number of years before I got the quad XR lights.

I really liked the Gli front, almost more than the quad conversion!

The front is just a skirt that goes on the bottom of the bars. Bob Hall at Canberra Car Styling do them. E-mail him for a quote, or find a second hand plastic one.

Here you can see how the lip matches the sideskirts:

and a better pic of whole front lip:

Basically what you will need is XR - front lip, sideskirts and rear bar is just an add on part like the front lip im fairly sure. If i was you i wouldnt bother with a spoiler looks better without them 8-)

Basically you will need to buy the kit off someone like Canberra car styling (site sponsor), SSV or AWC then get them to send the kit down to Melboure. Then all you need to do is go off to some panel beaters and get some quotes for them to fit and paint the kit for you in your local area.

If you can use a drill, screwdriver and spanner, then do it yourself!

Unfortunatly YES!
The fibreglass bodykits need a LOT of work to get a good fit between them and the front and rear bars aswell as the side skirts.
Well worth the effort I will say.
You will need to fit the bodykit up to the car first to make sure that it fits to your liking and then take it to your painter of choice.

I know the EL XR kit is more substantial than the EF, but are the XR8 and XR6 kits the same? I think the rear wing is higher on the 8? Are there any other differences?
