Hi all, great to be here :)

I want to fit EL tail lights to my EB falcon wagon (to match the clear aftermarket front indicators), will these fit my EB?

Ant are there any clear guard indicator lenses to suit an EB?

Thanks in advance,
Alan.

yep they'll fit! :)

as for clear side indicators - most guys use the AUIII ones, which *pretty* much clip straight on!

yep i got AUIII side repeaters in my ED. looking for some EL rear ones too.
The guard moulds just need some gentle shape massaging (i just used a file) and the wiring grommet needs 2 lugs snipped off, of the lens to have 2 holes created.

Thanks for the help guys, very much appreciated indeed.

Would you recomment aftermarket repro's (on ebay all the time) or genuine?

If I had a EB-ED wagon I would do that to as it would look sick its a pity no one has made aftermarket clear tail lights like the AU-BA tail lights for ute's & sedans

I have a set of aftermarket EL tail lights on my EF Fairmont wagon. They look just as good (if not better) than genuines and are a fraction of the price (I think I paid $190 for the pair at Repco). The quality isn't bad either, mine have been on for nearly a year and still look as good as the day I put them on. Same with the one my folks had on their EF GLi. It's a rice modification no doubt about that but given how cheap the orange indicators made the rear end look I can live with it.

One thing you do have to watch out for though is that early models had four posts holding the indicator in whereas later ones only had three. Or was it the other way around? In any case, you need to double check before buying because the two types aren't interchangable. We the discovered the hard way when buying the replacement for the GLi. Repco were good about exchanging it though so it was OK in the end.

I think it's great, those Altezza lights are right up there with neons, coloured washer jets, surfboard sized spoilers and milo tin exhaust tips in terms of gayness and anyone who fits them to a Falcon (as opposed to their native habitat of Bitsamissen Prancers and other riced-out s**t) should be rounded up and shot.

Hi all, thanks for the input.

So I should buy the aftermarket versions for a guaranteed fit?

Non-gen ones will have the same potential fitment problems as genuines ones. Just go out to the car, prise off one of the access panels for the taillights and count the number of nuts holding the light on. If there's 4 then you're good but if there's 3 then they won't fit.

i believe it was the EA's that had the different fittings, so anything after that should be fine
