2days ago, some old guy just skimmed my front bumper of my car with his, (owned up,).....as he's trying to persuade me "ah its not that big deal mate, its ok, i've got plenty of scratches on my car being really arrogant", he wants three quotes for the repair, even though the scratch its only 8cmlong and 1cm wide, i still want to get it fixed,
would anyone recommened a place to get a quote for paints? will i need to get it sprayed or touch up? as the scratch has basically peeled the paint back on the bumper..
thanks
- ash

dont matter where u go
if he has asked for 3 quotes get 3 quotes simple

if u want some names ring your insurance company and ask for a list of recomended repairers

Oh yeah cheers, whats the place off westall road?

The guy who skimmed my car said to buy the touchup paint and he will do it himself(as its no big "deal"), but im not to hasty on that as what if it doesn't get done propperly, or a dodgy job..
He says for that minor scratch it doens tneed to go through the insurance companies,
the scratch is about 8cmlong and a 1cm in width, and is only the paint been scratched back from the bumper..
what shall i do??!??!?!?!?

Ash - Simple, if he has admitted fault go get 3 quotes to respray the bar from a panel beater. He has to pick one of the quotes

If he starts to whinge and b**ch - call your insurance company and tell them what happened - they will take care of it and you wont have to pay for any damage or excess as long as you have his details and licence no

DO NOT LET HIM TOUCH IT UP! It will never be right - and will more than likely come off when it gets hit with pressure watch
Sounds like this guy is trying to stooge you because he is a tight a**

s**t three quotes. just go straight to your insurece mob and tell them what happened and that this bloke is stuffing you around. it will go to the recovery dept and you get your car fixed where you want that is most conveinient for you. dont put yourself out for people that are in the wrong.

f**k him over and get the insurance to pay it out. You wont pay excess if he is identified and has admitted fault. That should put his arrogant a*** back in place.

I did that to someone who hit my car in the carpark and wanted to pay me instead of him getting worse premiums. I said yeah no worries I'll get quotes for you. Then I just went through insurance and didn't pay a thing. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

It's not doing wrong by the other person, its protecting you. Insurance all the way, otherwise people should save themselves the whole hassle and not have insurance at all :P

Hey guys, just to say that it was all done,
went through insurance, and it got done at the VACC in Rooks Road (Nunawadding),
Im really happy with the job, apart from my insurance company, you should really watch this mob,
Went to pick up the car, guythere said he can't give me the car until its paid for (even though RACV said they'll deal with it), so we pay it as its not the VACC's fault,
We ring RACV to find a verrry rude person on the phone saying, "You knew that you would have to pay," (even though we didn't), and because i went to the police station to get the offenders number and address racv said

"Your breaching the privacy act", which really got my blood boiling so I reported him to the team manager at Racv (his names Jess if anyone has dealt with him in the past),
anyway all in all, heres a pic of my car nice and clean:)
oh and no those sparkles aren't photoshopped either...

you did the right thing going insurance. He was in the wrong not you so why should you have to waste your time getting 3 quotes to inevitably get a dodgy brothers style repair done on your vehicle.
