hey guys, the EB copped a bit of minor hail damage monday afternoon.
Hail was up to 2.5cm's in diameter, and has left small dints on the bonnet and roof. Has anybody had any success in fixing this damage yourself, if so, how?

Heard from a few people that dent wizard are pretty good and hell of alot cheaper than a panel beater - if you dont have insurance.

yea 3rd party wont cover damage to your own vehicle atleast not hail damage, bad luck champ

whats dent wizard? how does "dent wizard" differ from a panal beater?

Check out their web site, you might find it more useful and they also offer a free quote too so it wouldnt hurt i guess.
http://www.dentwizard.com.au/dent.htm I havent used them myself but have had other friends use them and they have been happy, esp when there is a s**t of savings!

Dent wizard probably use strong electromagnets (as I believe panel beaters also use nowa days).

A mate of mine who is a panel beater has just done the no-paint dent removal course, same as these Dent wizard guys. Its all done with long small levers and small hard urathane dollys.
If you have lots of hail damage it may be cheaper to repair & paint, as these dent guys charge $60-100 per dent.

was just browsing for info, and i came accross this:
REPAIRING HAIL DAMAGE something worth watching is the video clip of heating the panel to pull the dint out. watching the steel form back into shape was really something!

That PDR stuff is what I was refering too. The articule also states that "Some damage may be too extensive for using PDR" Using Heat is an old trick, we used just a heat gun then rapidly cooled it with water to shrink a panel back to shape, I wouldn't recommend it if you want to keep the painted surface though. We managed to get the shape back we wrecked the paint with the heat gun.
