G'day all,

I have a problem that I'm hoping there might be an easy work around (tho I don't think there is but no harm asking). I have clear alteza lights on my EF Fairmont. The standard red globes for the tail/ brake lights as you have probably found as well are rather pale. So I thought I'd go with led lights (24 leds per globe) which are a more vibrant red and do look alot better. However because each led is used for both tail and brake lighting, with I presume a diode or two to cut down current for tail light brightness and full current for braking, when the lights (tail lights of course) are on my cruise control doesnt work. I figure this is because of a slight feedback sent back along the brake wiring because there are no seperate elements in a led.

Now my questions are, 1/ is there an easy way to stop the feedback? and 2/ which is more important, EF's are notorious for there brake switches failing. with the slight feedback that would be coming back to the switch would that cause the brake switch to fail sooner?

Thanks for reading

Wraith

Thanks terroistghia.

I think I have thought of a solution, haven't tried it yet tho going to. What if I ran a simple relay in the boot. Use the original incomin brake wire to activate the relay and then take power from the amp plug (i have the fairmont wiring of course) to power the brake lights.

This would stop any feedback whatsoever going back along the brake wire. However I also have an amp fitted and would the current drawn from the amp affect any current heading to the brakes. Actually there is another point I could use it from.. doesn't the standard tow wiring have a constant power wire as well?

Your thoughts?
