Hey guys, picked myself up a free set of 17x7.5 pre au offset auscar rims, catch is that one of them has a crack clean through one of the spokes, i was told that they are discontinued from the guy i got them off but he was unsure of the model name and i havnt a clue what they are.

there the rims that are on this xd

http://www.totalrpm.com/car/2757

ive had a look on the bobjane site but the virtual wheels part of it is dead so i cant find a model name there.

if anyone knows what they are or if they know someone selling one of them please let me know

cheers

chris c

ok i got some better pictures, the second pic is of the cracked rim, does anyone think it can be repaired? They where free rims, 3 of them are perfect and only 3 months old, the 4th one has the crack the whole way through the spoke and im having a real hard time trying to find a replacement rim

cheers

Getting them repaired might be an option... and frankly a cheaper one than getting new ones. I recently damaged some of my rims and had to look into repairs - the only reason i didn't is cos since my rims are two-tone coloured, they cost $275 for repairs. (New ones cost $295 - no point in repairing). Now i think they can work miracles with some rims so it's worth asking around. Find a prominent mechanic's place and ask them to refer you to the best guys to do it.

Cheers

I would never trust a repaired rim. And I would think insurance would be a problem if it was proved that the wheel was responsible for the accident/crash. If someone died then say goodbye to your life as they would take you for everything you earn.

Yeah I wouldn't trust it either. If its cracked like you said then personally I'd buy a new rim when you work out where from.
