Gday all,
Previously I owned a EF Falcon and replaced the headlights with aftermarket ones. Whilst they made an amazing differance, the beam was not the best, as in the road ahead would light up beautifully. Then you would see a beam up in the trees as well.

Now My NF fairlane needs new lights. Are original ford ones worth the money or should I go after market again?

Are all aftermarket of average quality or did I get a bad one?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Well, the Genuine ones would be the go but alas, they are expensive.

Some after market ones are extremely cheap makes and will burn the reflector or break retaining clips or??? and are not worth the $$$.

I can look for you to see how much the NEW ones are? I work for a Ford place and I am sure I can get a good price for you.

You pay $ for genuine, or buy aftermarkets and use the left over money for HIDs. EF-EL have poor lighting from factory anyway. HIDs will improve it.

That would be good. Please get me a genuine price. Problem is I need tyres first, so may not get them straight away.

Whilst aftermarkets aren't bad, the beam isn't perfect, in my experience.

GLi and fairmont are the same light.

as people have said, i would get a set just a britax hid kit and adjust them up properly and you should be happy with the results

I paid $45 per light (TYC? import) ADR approved. (trade) as i was owed a favor.

I've found several 'parts suppliers' that will sell GLi/Futura assemblies for $65ea.

Fairmont/LTD etc (h4 type) are around $90 a pop if you do your homework.

No they're not as good as genuine, in fact I think they're s**t. But they resemble SOME sort of beam on the road and in a forward direction, and yet, have a nice clean plastic lens.
